I graduated from Newcastle University in 2010 with a 2.1 in English Literature. After that? I qualified as a teacher in 2012 and have since worked in the UK and internationally. I have recently located back to the UK and have some availability for tutoring. In my post recent post, I worked as a Deputy Head Teacher with responsibility for curriculum.

I specialise in the teaching of all core subjects but am particularly passionate about the teaching of phonics, reading and writing. I have worked with many students for SAT preparation and other statutory assessments.

I am available for home tutoring in local areas, but available for online tutoring nationwide. Depending on the student's needs, tutoring may be delivered one to one or as part of a group session. Read less

The biggest contributor to success when working with young people is ensuring that you understand your student and are aware of their strengths and weaknesses. Using this knowledge, I prepare sessions and adapt resources appropriately to ensure that each student is successful from their starting point. I set small targets and discuss this with all stakeholders so that knowledge can continue to be developed beyond discrete sessions. Read less
