I have been teaching and tutoring English language and literature for several years. I have prepared pupils for GCSE and A level exams as well as language exams. I deal with every aspect of the language; comprehension, grammar, spelling, punctuation; oral and written skills.
My enthusiasm for the subject is usually passed on to my pupils and they achieve very good results.
I like the challenge when someone has been given low grades at school. They are quite surprised by their improvement after a few weeks.
Literature has always been my main interest. I studied it at university and my aim is to help pupils see the beauty of the written word and show them how much fun reading is.
I have never met a 'hopeless' pupil; maybe the method was not the right one.
I am patient and strict at the same time. My priority is always the pupil's progress.
I live in Wolverhampton and I am happy to teach at the pupil's house or online. Read less

First I assess the pupil to see their exact needs. Then I make a plan about going ahead. The practice is very important. There is always homework which I check and give feedback on. Students' questions are welcome. I always make time for that. The lesson consists of explanations and discussions, reading and writing exercises. If the pupil needs to learn English as a foreign language, role play and communication form part of every lesson. Everything has to have relevance to them. Read less
